Funny Girl

I love watching old movies. There’s something magical about Techni-color. Barbara Streisand in all her glory playing Fanny Brice, a Broadway comedienne in love with Nick Arnstein, played by Omar Sharif.

G.I. Jane

I missed this film when it was released. Demi Moore playing Jordan O’Neil, navy seal. Can’t really think of much to say about it. It reminded me of Full Metal Jacket. I’m glad I finally watched it but I don’t think I’ll watch it again.

Closer

Huh? Don’t understand the movie. There are four characters: journalist (Jude Law), photographer (Julia Roberts), doctor (Clive Owen), and stripper (Natalie Portman). None of the characters can figure out whom they love or want to be with. The couples switch about four (??) times during the movie. The bulk of the movie is made up […]

Down With Love

Remember How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days? This is basically the same movie set in the 60s. This time around the leading characters are Ewan MacGregor and Renee Zellweger. Not too much to say really. The movie is forgettable, but not bad. Catch this movie when it comes to TV.

Napoleon Dynamite

This movie is like watching a train wreck. Terrible in every way but impossible to look away because you don’t want to miss any of the gruesome details. The film follows the title character over a short period of time, perhaps a week. Napoleon is a loser, his family are losers, pretty much everyone in […]

Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events

Yet another movie based on a book, or in this case, a series of books. The Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events books are individually very short and this film was based upon the first 3 in the series, namely: The Bad Beginning, The Reptile Room, and The Wide Window. The stories revolve around […]
