These are the movies I've watched.

Bubba Ho-Tep

This was a follow up movie to the Evil Dead marathon I recently completed. I wanted to see what Bruce Campbell has been up to recently. It turns out he is still battling evil.

Bubba Ho-Tep is the story of two old men in a sleepy Texas nursing home. Campbell plays an (badly) aging Elvis (yes, I said Elvis Presley) who, along with his buddy JFK (yes, I said JFK), battle an ancient Mummy soul-sucker who is enjoying a “buffet” at the nursing home.

Elvis tells the story of how he switched places with an impersonator because he was getting tired of being famous but couldn’t switch back before the impersonator died because the contract was lost in a freak barbequing accident.

JFK tells us that he wasn’t really assassinated; it was only made to look that way. The Secret Service took part of his brain (which is still being studied at the Pentagon), dyed him black, and changed his identity.

“Bubba Ho-Tep” is the name given to the mummy by Elvis. “Bubba” because the mummy dresses like a hillbilly or “Good ol’ boy” and “Ho-Tep” because that is the family name of a mummy recently lost in a trucking accident as it was traveling between museums.

This movie is amazing. A must see.
