Bruce Campbell at his best.

The Hurt Locker

This is an amazing movie that shows what it is like to be part of the military bomb squad in Iraq. I have a friend who used to do this until he was injured by a bomb and he tells me that this movie is perfectly realistic.

The Telling

Three sorority pledges have to tell a scary story as part of their hazing. This is basically three short horror stories strung together by some retarded plot. Pass.

Moonlight Serenade

A very low budget jazz movie. The notable thing about this movie is that Amy Adams stars. If the budget could be increased to get some decent production value it would be a wonderful movie. As it stands the cheap production detracts from the good music and story.

Serious Moonlight

A woman duct tapes her husband to the toilet when he tells her he’s leaving her. This is one of those movies that takes place almost entirely in one room. I find that the story for this type of movie has to be exceptional to make up for all the talky-talky. Pass.

The Fourth Kind

A fictional documentary about alien abduction. Unusual but not enough to hold my interest. Pass.

Extract

Wow terrible. I spent the entire movie waiting for the plot to make an appearance. I gave up waiting when the end credits started rolling. The movie is about the owner of an extract factory who hires a gigolo for his wife so he won’t feel guilty about the affair he wants to have with […]

Spiral

A troubled telemarketer has trouble distinguishing between real people and imaginary ones. It’s decent for the type of psychological thriller it is but it’s a little slow. Pass.

Leatherheads

A romantic comedy about the very early days of professional football. George Clooney plays his “goofy” character and Renee Zellweger plays a pushy reporter following the team around. Adequate.

Martian Child

A weird man adopts an even weirder child. Decent, but not a must see.

MASH

It was interesting to see the movie behind the tv show but I found it pointless and rambling. Donald Sutherland is always a treat to watch.

500 Days of Summer

The story of a young man’s rocky 500 day relationship with Summer Finn. As far as romantic comedy content it is similar to most other movies of this kind however the way it was told was interesting. The story jumped around a fair bit chronologically but to help the viewer the day number was flashed […]

The Blind Side

An amazing movie. Sandra Bullock should win some kind of award for this.
